Lance Hidy: Guest Speaker & Demo at Book Arts Open Studio

Lance Hidy: An Unseen Art

Saturday, February 14th from 12 pm to 1:15 pm

Lance Hidy will be the guest speaker during this February’s Book Arts Open Studio. A renowned graphic designer now living in the Merrimac Valley, Lance will discuss the origins of craft and design in his life and present an interactive demonstration of the stab binding technique he used for his self-published book.

An Unseen Art by Lance Hidy: Studying trout ecosystems and tying flies to mimic their prey has inspired generations of fly fishers — like V. S. Hidy (1914–1983), an internationally acclaimed fly fishing author and fly tier — to become environmental advocates, using their craft as an expression of love for nature and a call to preserve it for future generations.
